The Celebrity Success Sizzle Award of the week goes to new L.A. Laker King James who just continues to make slam dunks on and off the court!
According to Essence, Lebron James negotiated with some major networks including Netflix, NBC, and Showtime to bring some narratives to life. In doing so, Lebron teamed up with John Legend and Wendy Calhoun to create a “Lean On Me” series. This series is based around Amarie Baldwin, a young black teacher who is hired as principal of struggling Akron High School.
It will be similar to the movie “Lean On Me” as it portrays how the system fails minority students. The principal will be working to help ensure student success. Lebron has a 3 part docuseries called “Shut Up and Dribble” with Showtime and Madam C.J. Walker limited series with Netflix based on her rise as the first self-made black female millionaire, just to name a few.
Congrats King James!
