Good news! Rappers Drake and Philly’s own Meek Mill have finally buried the hatchet and put an end to their over 3 year beef. According to People Magazine, while Drake was performing at TD Garden in Boston, he invited Meek Mill on stage for a handshake to solidify their truce in front of concert goers. The historic moment was also captured by picture and the pic was posted by Drake on Instagram with the caption, “This really gave me peace of mind tonight. Healing and moving forward created one of the most electric and gratifying moments of my career. @meekmill I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose”. Meek Mill, in turn, posted the same pic with the caption “BOTH HAPPY AS S**T”.
A little background for those of you who don't know or have forgotten the beef: The Drake/Meek Mill beef started back in July 2015 around the time that Meek tweeted, "Stop comparing Drake to me too... He don't write his own raps!" Drake came out with diss track “Back to Back”. Meek dropped his diss track “Wanna Know”. Some tweets, words, and diss tracks said in between then and now.
However, a concert goer wore a “Free Meek Mill” shirt to Drake’s concert in Australia. Drake spotted the shirt and said “Free Meek Mill too man, for real,” which is probably the main reason for the truce. Female rap queen Nicki Minaj professed her support of the truce on her new podcast radio show "Queen Radio". Will there be another collaboration in the future between Drake and Meek? Who knowns! Only time will tell.
